City development
Your first days: what to build and in what order
The main goal of the first days is to raise the Sanctuary and prepare in advance everything that is needed for its next level.
Original images are preserved. Text within them remains in the original language.
The sanctuary is the main landmark of the city's development.
Don't try to keep all buildings at the same level. Build first: Sanctuary → requirements of the next Sanctuary → Laboratory → everything else as needed.
And from the first day, constantly engage in the Clinic.
What should a newbie do?
- See what buildings are needed for the next level of the Sanctuary.
- Prepare them in advance.
- Don't leave the construction line empty.
- Develop your Clinic from day one.
- After opening the Laboratory, don't let it lag too far behind.
- Raise production and secondary buildings when they are really needed.
Sanctuary is a top priority.
The level of the Sanctuary limits almost the entire city: the maximum level of heroes, the levels of other buildings, the opening of new buildings, mechanics and additional units.
A High Sanctuary is more useful than a city where all buildings are pumped equally.
Before each construction project, ask: will this help raise the next Sanctuary faster? If not, construction can perhaps be postponed.
Clinic - from the first day
The clinic looks like a separate mini-game and doesn't seem important at first. It's a trap.
To upgrade the Sanctuary, Clinic stars are required. They cannot then be quickly caught up with construction accelerations - progress takes time.
Simple rule: come to the Clinic every day and constantly advance its development. The main thing is not to quit.
Laboratory - in advance
The research laboratory opens after level 7 Sanctuary. Later it becomes a permanent requirement of the main building.
For Sanctuary 11, Laboratory 7 is already needed. Starting from Sanctuary 12, a simple formula applies:
If you want Sanctuary N → prepare Laboratory N−1.
Don't download everything
Do not level farms, sawmills, gardens, barracks and other buildings to the level of the Sanctuary.
Increase production buildings when the Sanctuary requires it, there really is not enough production, the necessary opportunity opens up, or the free queue otherwise sits idle.
Don’t build just because the improvement arrow is lit nearby.
Second construction phase
If there is an additional queue, keep it busy all the time. It builds in parallel every day and gives more than a one-time acceleration.
Main queue: The sanctuary and its mandatory requirements.
Additional: Laboratory, secondary buildings and what will be needed soon.
Where to spend accelerations
Don't waste boosters to finish a short building a little earlier: the Builder's Hut has a free completion window.
Save them for the Sanctuary, the Laboratory, the required next level building, and long construction projects that block development.
What is stopping you from moving forward now? This is where the accelerations go.
How to prepare Laboratory
| Goal | Laboratory |
|---|---|
| Sanctuary 12 | 11 |
| Sanctuary 15 | 14 |
| Sanctuary 20 | 19 |
| Sanctuary 25 | 24 |
Important Sanctuary Levels
| Sanctuary | What's important is happening |
|---|---|
| 4 | First Squad, Campaign and Alliance unlock |
| 5 | Daily quests appear |
| 7 | Research Laboratory opens |
| 8 | Second squad opens |
| 9 | A second workbench appears |
| 10 | Alliance caravans and gifts open |
| 11 | The laboratory becomes a requirement for the development of the Sanctuary |
| 15 | Participation in the Race for the Elixir opens |
| 20 | Third squad opens |
It's especially useful to get to Sanctuary 8 faster: the second squad allows you to perform more actions on the map at the same time and significantly speeds up the daily game.
Simple construction procedure
- Clinic. Not construction, but constant progress. Do it every day.
- Sanctuary. If you can raise it, go for it.
- Requirement of the next Sanctuary. Look in advance what kind of building you will need.
- Laboratory. After opening, keep it close to the Sanctuary level.
- Buildings that unlock new mechanics. A new squad, research and caravans are more important than a small increase in production.
- The rest of the city. Develop as needed and free queues.
Common mistakes
- Ignore the Clinic because it appears to be a mini-game.
- Upgrade all buildings to the same level.
- Start the Laboratory only when the Sanctuary has already required it.
- Leave the construction queue empty.
- Use boosts on short buildings.
- Invest too much in farms and sawmills early in the game.
- Build for the sake of power instead of discovering useful mechanics.
- Do not look at the requirements for the next level of the Sanctuary in advance.
In the early days, you don't need a perfectly developed city. We need a continuous chain of development.
The sanctuary moves the city. The clinic should not lag behind. The laboratory is prepared in advance. The remaining buildings serve this chain.
If you know in advance what the next Sanctuary will need, most of the unpleasant stoppages in development will disappear.
